I was admitted to high-class summer research program at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in summer 2018, which greatly deepened my understanding of the biological field and developed my scientific research thinking. When serving as research assistant at HKUST, I mainly participated in two projects on single cells to explore the cutting-edge biotechnology, which was directed by Prof. Angela WU. In the first project, I used ultracentrifugation to isolate exosomes from cells and optimized the parameters to obtain a protocol with best exosome concentration. In the following one, I joined in the project on study RNA of sea urchin larvae.

The two projects and training are very meaningful to me as the experience not only offered me professional knowledge and scientific research methods, more importantly strengthened my determination to pursue a master degree in Cornell University to make important discoveries in the world of biomedical engineering and excel in this field.

It has been a great three months of my life. Many thanks to my seniors for all guidance. Hope to meet again some other time
